Side damage mostly from rolling in its side. No interior carpet, some mildew.

Long story short I personally saw this truck sell for $2000 dollars. It was in worse condition than it looks.

A power buy on my brothers part. 270k clean title (somehow) 4 cylinder manual that had been t-boned at the rear axle. Ended up bending the axle pretty bad aswell as rupturing the fuel tank. He had me put a new fuel tank in and replace the leaf springs(which got wrenched on impact) with some from a newer Tacoma so they fit just perfect.

Turned out the frame was also very bent and the axle Sat a couple inches to the right. The axle was so bent that the diff was howling at 10 mph.

Someone picked it up at night with plans to take it across South America or something to that effect, felt kinda bad for them. But then again nothing was really hidden it was just overpriced and a few things not mentioned.

Also a fine example of why the term “clean title” has little meaning except at the registration office. Unreported major accident would be more honest.

If the buyer was truly informed of any issues and is somehow happy with the deal more power to your brother on the sale though.

This is why I’ll probably never have one again. I loved mine, and id love to have it back, but I’m not paying 10-12,000 bucks for a truck with 200,000+ miles one it. Which is what a clean manual, ex cab, LE, V6 4x4 goes for these days.

4-runners and land cruisers are getting up there too, it’s like there’s a 200% tax because it says Toyota. Granted they are reliable but you could have a compirable frontier, s10, ranger for like $5000 less.

Yup, letting mine go was a stupid mistake. I was supposed to buy it from my dad buy I lost my job, and told him to sell it. In 2009 he sold a 97 Tacoma for 4,000 with 120,000 miles. It needed new leaf springs, and rear shocks, but still you’d be hard pressed to even find that a similar truck now, much less buy it for less than 10 grand.

Dude, I sold a T100 with a frame that had more rust than the Titanic that broke IN HALF and I welded back together for $200 more than I bought it for ($2200). Crazy.

And this is why you get an inspection, even for a $2000 buy. At least have someone knowledgeable take a quick look at what you are buying or run the risk of getting ripped off by a seller that’s not really dishonest but less than forthcoming.

Well, in this case it was dishonest and dangerous, but hey, at least someone made a few bucks. Not telling someone of major issues in a car sale makes the seller a major asshole. I get it, educated buyer, etc, but jesus man. It’s borderline fraud.
